The Historic Medford Village Association is pleased to announce the 19th Annual Dickens Festival has been scheduled for Saturday December 6th from 6:00-9:30 (Rain Date: Sunday, December 7th; 3:00-6:30). The event will take place along Main Street in downtown historic Medford. An official Town Crier will kick off the festivities with the anticipated arrival of Santa being led in a horse drawn carriage down Main Street. Representatives from Acme Markets, along with Mayor Christopher Myers and the Medford Council will have the honor of lighting the Township's holiday tree at 6:15PM at the Gazebo on South Main Street to begin the evening's celebration.
The Dickens Festival, which attracts over 20,000 participants each year to Medford, offers a FREE evening of fun- filled family entertainment, while promoting the quaint charm of Medford Village and its businesses. Main Street will glisten with twinkling lights as carolers and choirs lift their voices in merriment. Come and meet Mr. Scrooge and Tiny Tim and many more Dickens characters. Take a complimentary ride on a horse drawn carriage through our historic town. A live Nativity will be on display at Tomlinson Park. Need to get warm? Sit down and listen to a story by Mrs. Gravatt at the Pinelands Branch Library. The ever- popular Give and Take Jugglers will perform for the crowds near Branch Street.
In conjunction with the Dickens Festival, the Medford Municipal Alliance will be hosting a "Teen Dickens Fest" concert and dance located at Memorial (middle schoolers) and Haines School (High schoolers). The cost of admission is $5 if purchased before the event and $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Medford Recreation Department or you can call 609-654-2512 for additional information.
Trolley services will be available to shuttle you to the event from several designated parking areas.
